Dear Colleagues,
It gives me great pleasure to be able to invite you to CMG Australia's premier event for 1999 - CMGA'99. This year's conference will be held at the Gold Coast International Hotel, September 2nd and 3rd. As with past conferences, there will be a full program, of Technical, Managerial and Tutorial papers, rounded out with leading Keynote speakers and a relaxing social program for the evenings.
The IT industry itself is in a constant state of change and CMG Australia are no different. You will notice several changes in this year's conference. Based on your feedback from last years conference we have made the following changes: -
- We're holding CMGA'99 at a hotel. All conference facilities, catering and accommodation is available under one roof. We can now offer package deals far cheaper than before.
- This year CMGA'99 will be held on Thursday and Friday. Only 2 days away from work will be easier to fit into busy schedules. The option of extending your stay into the weekend at the GCI (conference hotel) following the conference is also available.
- You told us you got great value from the 1/2 day seminars before the conference. They are currently being confirmed and will cover 4 techincal topics presented by international guests.
As in the past, we will have a great range of international speakers presenting papers at CMGA'99. You will see some of the usual faces, such as Steve Samson, and several others who are 'gurus' in their own countries. We have invited several speakers from the UK, Europe and South Africa, including winners of Best Paper awards from the regional CMG conferences.
We are also working towards having several distinguished Australian IT dignitaries to present keynote and locknote sessions - always a highlight of CMGA conferences. The conference committee, are sparing no effort to make sure that the vendor presentations, conference venue, and social events are better than ever before.
As you browse through this brochure, you will see that the many changes we are making to the Annual Conference will ensure that this years conference will continue the trend of being one of the pre-eminent conferences in the Australian IT calendar.
I look forward to be able to welcome you in person at the conference. So pencil it in your diaries, and start planning now to attend CMGA99.
